Annie Besant: An Introduction to Yoga - eBook
Annie Besant was a socialist and woman’s rights activist, as well as a writer. She was a wife and mother, a university graduate, and the second president of the Theosophical Society. She did most of her writing after meeting HP Blavatsky and becoming a theosophist. She later worked with Mahatma Gandhi while she lived in India.
Many people know Yoga as a form of stress-relieving fitness regime. These lectures (Delivered at the 32nd Anniversary of the Theosophical Society held at Benares) are intended to give an outline of Yoga, in order to prepare the student to take up, for practical purposes, the Yoga sutras of Patanjali, the chief treatise on Yoga.
